He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, a member of the Catholic Church, and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Acosta was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Acosta; son, Robert E. Acosta; parents, Enrique and Valentina Acosta; and siblings, Guadalupe (Lupe) Boyer; Reynaldo Acosta, Alfonso Acosta, and Lucia Hernandez. He is survived by his sister, Eva Sanchez; his wife Martha Acosta; his children Katherine Tursic (Phillip), Cecilia Nieto, and David Acosta (Christine); his grandchildren, Alisa N. West (Robert), Michael Acosta, Melissa Nieto, and Eric B. Nieto; and his great-grandchildren, Brooklyn West, Zeus Acosta, and Anastasia James.
A visitation for Enrique will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, Texas 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Church, 3729 Hueco Ave, El Paso, Texas 79903. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, Fort Bliss, Texas 79906. Pallbearers will be family members and godsons.
