Emma graduated from Bowie High School; class of 1954! She became a special officer for the City of El Paso Police Department. She later retired from City of El Paso Health District. Emma's hobbies included reading, traveling and going to Las Vegas, Nevada. She loved having a good time with family and friends.
Emma is preceded in death by her companion, Manuel "Manny" Lara Jr.; sons, Luis Elvira and Robert Elvira.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Robert Elvira Jr., Dion Elvira, Yvonne Elvira, Sarai Elvira and Talison Elvira. She also leaves behind her best friend, Maria E. Newby.
A Visitation for Emma will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 starting at 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, El Paso, Texas 79915. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79907.
