Elena Talamantes, born on April 26, 1922, passed on December 22, 2020 to be with her heavenly Father. Elena was ninety-eighty years old and is survived by her sister, Carlota Vasquez and by her two daughters, Virginia Talamantes and Eva T. Salinas. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Raquel Ruiz, husband Ramon Ruiz, and Monica Otto, husband Erik Otto, and six great grandchildren, Aubry A. Ruiz, Zack Ruiz, Joaquin R. Martinez, Reina E. Martinez, Salma Ruiz, and Alexis A. Arrambide.
Elena was one of three daughters born to Gabriel Talamantes and Josefina Estrada in Boquilla, Chihuahua, Mexico. She remained there until her father migrated to the El Paso area with her and her sister Ofelia. Elena received her training in cosmetology which she practiced most of her adult life.
Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on January 13, 2021 at 12:30 p.m.
