Donald F. Gregory, Sr. passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on Monday, July 2, 2012. He was surrounded by his wife, his son and daughter-in-law, along with their newborn baby girl; and various nieces and nephews that traveled from Texas and New Mexico to be by his side.
Mr. Gregory was born on June 2nd, 1936 in Stettler, Alberta Canada. He came to the United States with his parents as a young boy. He graduated from Albany High School in Albany, Oregon, Class of 1955; and was a recipient of many track honors. He entered the United States Army in 1959, and after several stateside and overseas tours, he retired in El Paso, Texas in 1979. Mr. Gregory also retired from the First Presbyterian Church as an Operations Manager. While stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, he met the love of his life: his wife, Margaret Granados Gregory. They had spent almost 39 years of married life together and were long term residents of El Paso until a recent move to Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ruby Gregory. His remaining survivors include his wife, their only son, Donald, Jr. , his daughter-in-law, Rachel, and his grandchildren: Savannah, Steffen, Samuel, and Emmersen Reese; brother-in-law Rudy Granados Sr. and wife Oco, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Gregory Family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 1340 Murchison Dr., followed by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
