She was in Global Hospice home in El Paso, Texas.
She attended Eastwood High School where she was a member of the Sponsor’s, Trooperettes, and the Cavalier Choir. She also enjoyed softball at Hueco Tanks. Her and her husband, Fred were both very active in the drag racing community, car shows and loved boating and traveling.
She and Fred were married for 21 years.
She worked alongside her father at Cole Drilling Company in Moon City for several years. After the company was sold, she worked at Tom Growney Equipment Company and from there went to LBI Pipeline Company where she loved learning about the gas industry from her bosses Julian Moody (Valerie) his sister Jessie Moody, Shane Underhill, Diane Sloey, and Deborah Horrell along with her many co-workers.
Dona was a dear member of her family and beloved by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her father James M. Cole, and her mother Erma M. Cole her uncles John C. Ford, George Hailer, Charlie Hagan, Doc Dodson and her cousin Buddy Hailer.
She is survived by her husband Fred Beard, her sons William (Bill) Ryan and Jonathan (Jay) Ryan, her granddaughter Hannah Ryan, her sister Dale (Cole) Koenig, her step children Jackie Beard and Isaac Beard her step grandchildren Devin Carter and Brandon Carter and her aunts; Darlene Hailer, Cathy Ford, Barbara Hagan and Wanda Dodson and her twin cousin and confidant Deanna Lofgreen (Ron) and her other cousins; Frank Ford, Cindy McDade (Bruce), Ginger Kent (Bob) Clifford Hagan (Tammy) and Kelly Gatlin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Humane Society of El Paso, TX as she was an avid animal lover.
