Dolores Amaya Jordan, 90, born September 12, 1924, passed away April 30, 2015. Dolores was born in the small mining town of Miami, Arizona, but was raised in the small town of Olive near Santa Anna, Ca. She met and married her husband Juan Jesus Jordan when he was in the U. S. Navy stationed at Los Alamitos Naval Air Base, near Santa Anna. Juan brought her to the El Paso area in 1945 and left for WWII to fight in the South Pacific. She lived in El Paso for the rest of her life where she was a devoted housewife for 65 years and a nourishing mother and grandmother all her live. She was very religious and a very generous woman. She lived close to San Jose Church where she attended mass every Saturdays. Friendly neighbors helped her to continue attend mass even after her husband Juan passed away. Juan and Dolores made several religious tours to Catholic Churches all across Mexico and traveled with senior groups across the U. S. southwest. For the last 3 years she was privileged to live at Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home where she was cared and loved by a superb professional staff. Our Family sends love and blessings to all who touched her life at the Veterans Home, especially to Hall 800 “Special Care Unit” who cared for her on a daily basis and her beloved co-residents who truly enriched her quality of life. She was preceded in death by her parents Fransico Bourboua Amaya and Maria Luis Enriques Amaya, her husband of 65 years Juan Jesus Jordan, her brothers Julio and Ruben Amaya, and sister Soccoro Duckworth. She is survived by her sister Elia Murillo. She also leaves behind three sons, Jesus Armando Jordan and wife Connie, Arturo Alberto Jordan and wife Virginia), Hector Rene Jordan and wife Kathy; two daughters, Hilda McComas and husband Bruce, Dolores Frazier; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Socorro Rodela and Irene Jordan. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 5, at Hillcrest Funeral Home on 1060 Carolina Dr. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church on 8011 Williamette. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers; Armando Jordan, Arturo Jordan, Hector Jordan, Ricardo Jordan, Hector Jordan Jr., Alex Jordan, Miles Frazier and Ryan Sanders. Honorary pallbearers, Bert and Art Jordan.
