Delfina Soto Martinez

Maria Delfina Soto went to her eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on Saturday May 6, 2023. Ms. Soto was 93 years of age and lived a full and remarkable life. The Hallmark of Ms. Soto’s life was her devotion and faith in the Lord. A devout Catholic, Ms. Soto was a long-time parishioner at San Antonio Catholic Church in El Paso. Ms. Soto walked in the steps laid before her by God and embodied all the goodness of a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Matriarch to so many others.

Born to her parents Josefa Morales and Enrique Morales in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 12, 1929. Ms. Soto was raised in a ranching community in Casas Grandes where she was instilled with her love of family, her Catholic faith, her compassion, generosity, and strong work ethic.

In future years she would ultimately meet her soul mate and future husband Raymundo Soto Sr. in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. A courtship would lead to a loving matrimony that led them to emigrate to the United States and make their life and home in El Paso, Texas. The marriage of Mr. and Ms. Soto was blessed with nine children, all of whom survive their beloved parents: Maria, Ramona, Bertha (Aurelio Banuelos), Ana (Ben Montes), Romelia, Juana (Carlos Rincon), Josie, Connie (Armando Gallego) and Raymundo Jr.

Ms. Soto was predeceased by her husband of many years Raymundo Soto Sr. and in addition to her children, is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The many memories of family traditions, holiday celebrations and all the love Ms. Soto gave to her entire family over her inspiring lifetime will themselves last an eternity. How we all appreciate and cherish all of the unconditional tender care, friendship and love given to us by our mother, grandmother and best friend Delfina Soto.
