Daniel (Dan) E. Snyder, 66, loving husband, father, and grandfather was transported into His Savior's arms on February 15, 2022. Dan was surrounded by his wife of nearly 50 years, Brenda; their five children, Shanna, Brandy, Sandie, Danny, and Leah; and his younger brother, David. Dan's faith has now become sight and his hope in eternity fully realized.
Dan was born of the flesh in 1955 and born of the Spirit in 1984. It was in 1984 that Christ forever changed the trajectory of Dan's lineage that is for those willing to believe, when, after recognizing his need for a Savior, he surrendered his will to Christ and accepted God's gift of salvation, John 3:16. In the moment Dan said "yes" to Jesus, the debt of his sin was cancelled and was no longer held against him. It was by grace Dan was saved, through faith, so that he could never boast of his own merit, Ephesians 2:8-9. Rather, he chose to adopt Jeremiah 9:24 as his life's verse, "Let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises loving kindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things, declares the Lord." The freedom Dan found in Christ radically transformed his life and he soon found himself walking along paths he had never been before.
These paths continued to deepen his faith and develop his understanding of God's ability to do so much more than what Dan could ever ask or even imagine, Ephesian 3:20. His relationship with Christ was evident throughout his journey on earth and the faith he possessed deepened the love he had for his family and affected every area of his life. Dan was a pastor, chef, inventor, Marine, and outdoorsman. His passion, however, was preaching and teaching God's Word. When anyone would stop by or call, he delighted in talking about the Scriptures and their relevance to today's world.
So, today you may hear that Dan Snyder, of El Paso, Texas, is dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At this moment he is more alive than ever before. He has gone up higher, that is all; out of his old clay tenement into a house that is immortal — a body that death cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body (adapted from D.L. Moody).
A Memorial Celebration of Dan's life will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Horizon Christian Fellowship, 1401 Hawkins Blvd., El Paso, Texas. Interment is planned for the summer of 2022 at Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah. 1 Samuel 12:24
