Constance Sue Hoover, 71, passed peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019. Connie was born on March 27, 1947 in Marion, Ohio to Tony and Gloria (Butler) Giallombardo. She later moved with her family to Phoenix, Arizona where she spent most of her childhood as the eldest of four children. After marrying Benny Dale Hoover on December 14, 1970, they moved to Florida for a few years and then to El Paso, Texas where she has lived most her life.
Together, Connie and Ben built Hoover Masonry Inc., a successful commercial masonry company, from the ground up. In addition to being a hardworking and driven secretary/treasurer for the family business, she was an extremely dedicated mother to her four children. Connie was involved with her children in girl scouts, cheerleading coach, and a horse show mom. She was an amazing cook who loved to prepare meals for her family with dishes inspired by her Italian Grandma. She had a life-long affection for horses and was able to spend about 10 years of her adult life on the horse show circuit prior to getting ill. Connie was a remarkable person with a wondrous sense of humor and a gracious heart.
Connie is survived by her husband, Benny Dale Hoover, and four children, Paula Rene Hoover, Wendi Denise Hoover, Brian Scott Hoover and wife Laura Beth Hoover, Kirsten Rebecca Claridge and husband Cash Tye Claridge; her grandchildren, Kaitlynne Leigh Shepard and family, Brandi Denise Taylor and family, Ryan Michael Martin, Tyler Joaquin Jackson, Kathryn Alexandra Von Dasing, Tye Kaleb Claridge, Shaylen Briann Claridge and Julia Brianne Hoover, three great-grandchildren with a fourth on the way; as well as her sister, Becky Holmes, two brothers, John and Jimmy Giallombardo, and many nieces and nephews. Lastly, she is survived by her sweet little dog, Maggie Mae, who Connie loved dearly and was always by her side to cheer her up when she wasn’t feeling well.
