Concha Rivas

Concha Rivas, loving wife and mother, passed away April 5, 2022. She was born December 8, 1935 to Domingo and Maria Rivera in El Paso, Texas and was one of 7 children (alongside her 4 brothers and 2 sisters). While a student at Jefferson High School, she met her husband, Hector Rivas, who attended Ysleta High School. They were happily married for 56 years until his death in 2013. They loved to travel together, go dancing in their younger years, shared a love of gardening and enjoyed time in their backyard taking care of their rose garden. She is survived by her 4 children, Hector Rivas (Andrea), Lynda Montoya, Debbie

Payne (Philip), and Ruben Rivas (Christine); 6 grandchildren, Kailen Rathbun, Brian Rathbun (Amanda), Ruben Rivas, Jr. (Mary), KaSandra Rivas (Michael), Christy Anna Rivas, and Jazmin Montoya; 2 great grandchildren, Michael and Delilah; her brothers and many nieces and nephews. Concha lived her life taking care of her family. Her faith in God was strong and never wavered. We will miss her silly jokes, quick wit, gracious spirit, but most of all her beautiful smile. Our memories of her unconditional love, kindness and

serene happiness will be cherished for the rest of our days. Concha requested a small memorial service for immediate family; she will be placed to rest with her husband at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. On behalf of our family, we thank everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Mom, we will miss you forever.
