Cleotilde (Coty) Rocha Hill was born May 31, 1936, in Brownsville, Texas to Simon Rocha Sr. and Margarita Wheaton Rocha. She entered into rest on September 2, 2023, in El Paso, Texas at the age of 87. She was a devout Catholic who had a deep devotedness to the Blessed Mother and Divine Mercy.
Cleo married Robert (Bob) William Hill Sr. and had 2 sons. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated teacher for just over 43 years. She taught her final academic lesson before the summer break of 2001 at Crockett Intermediate School in El Paso, Texas; however, she never stopped teaching lessons of faith, hope, charity, and love.
Cleotilde, fondly known as Coty, had a tremendous heart. She was kind and genuine to all who would come to know her and many times to those who simply crossed her path. She would always welcome you into her home with a loving embrace and always made sure you left with a full tummy. There was no escaping her feeding you--nor did you want to miss out on what she had cooked. The most important thing to her was that you left her with a smile no matter where you ran into her or as you left her home.
As almost everyone knows, Coty found life anew and renewed vitality upon becoming a grandmother. Something that she (and Bob) had always desired.
Cleo was a beautiful soul who with a simple embrace or a loving word can change the direction of your life, fill your heart, strengthen your faith, bring you peace, show you love, and never make you feel alone. Life will be different without her, but she has shown us what makes it great and how we should be. This world has always been a beautiful place with her in it. We will learn to know it as she did. She was love, she was beautiful, she was everything. She will be missed.
Cleotilde is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert Hill Sr., sons Robert Hill Jr. (Ana) & Jude Hill (Denise). She is survived by her brother Simon Rocha Jr. (Elizabeth) and sister Graciela Cavazos (Raul). She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren Pamela (Mark), Liam, Luke, and Penelope along with many nephews and nieces as well as numerous friends. She also leaves behind her beloved and best companion, her Dachshund Sparky.
Cleotilde was preceded in death by her father Simon Rocha Sr., her mother Margarita Rocha and her brother Guadalupe Rocha Sr. and his wife Lucila Rocha and their daughter Laura.
Pallbearers: Brooke Simpson, Christopher Holguin, Eric Gentry, Joe Lopez, Oscar Ramirez, and Roman Rodriguez.
A visitation for Cleotilde will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM with rosary prayer at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1315 Travis St., El Paso, Texas 79903. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:30 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr., El Paso, Texas 79904.
