Bryan Abraham passed away early Sunday, April 21, 2024, after a months-long illness at the age of 81. He was born to Elias and Agnes (nee Solomon) Abraham on June 16, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA. The family returned to El Paso shortly after his birth where he spent the remainder of his life. He enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by a large extended family in El Paso’s Syrian-Lebanese community. He attended El Paso public schools until 1960 when the family relocated to Los Angeles, CA for a brief three-year stint.
He was a 1961 graduate of University High School in Los Angeles, CA, and a 1967 graduate of the newly coined University of Texas at El Paso. In 1967, he enjoyed a brief career in coaching and teaching for the Canutillo and Fabens public schools. In 1970, he began an illustrious 50-year plus career as a commercial and industrial real estate broker and developer when he joined the Mel Levenson Company. He eventually formed Bryan Abraham Commercial Real Estate where he worked until his passing.
He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, a member of the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, and a supporter of many local charities and civic organizations. He will forever be remembered as someone who was deeply devoted to his wife, family, friends, church, and country.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elias and Agnes Abraham and brother Sidney. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol who he married 50 years ago this month, daughter Anessa Kennard (John) of Coronado, CA, son Matthew Abraham of Dallas, TX, and daughter Camille Plundo (Jonathan) of El Paso. He has five grandchildren: Michael Plundo, Catherine Plundo, Bryan Plundo, John Bryan (Jack) Kennard, and Bryn Elizabeth Kennard.
Pallbearers include John Kennard, Jack Kennard, John Plundo, Michael Plundo, Pat Byrne, Christopher Ferris, and Paul J. Ferris Jr. Honorary Pallbearers include Mel Levenson, Tom Apodaca, John Birklebach, Randolph Young, George Dipp, Ike Monty, David Karam, Mike McNamee, Butch Aguirre, Bryan Haddad, Jim Salome, Ronnie Esper, Richard Esper, George Elias, and Don Milner.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM followed by a Trisagion Service at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church followed by an Interment Service at 12:30 pm at Restlawn Memorial Park. Services will be presided by RT. Rev. Archimandrite Fadi Rabbat and Rev. Deacon Miguel "Michael" Sifuentes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, El Paso Tx.
