It is with great sadness that the family of Armando Miguel Rey announces that Armando, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away peacefully on September 19, 2018. Dad was a man of great strength and strong faith. He was a quiet and gentle man. He survived his WWII injuries and received a Purple Heart for his bravery. He was a cancer survivor. He endured all life's hardships through his faith in God. Dad loved Mariachis which he enjoyed on every birth day up to his 95th birthday. He will be greatly missed.
Dad was preceded in death by his parents Miguel Rey and Refugio Mora Rey, sister Consuelo Sambrano and an infant daughter Edith E. Rey. He is survived by his sisters Ofelia Arroyo and Cuca Villegas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his son Armand Michael Rey and daughters Evelyn and Elizabeth Rey. Proud grandfather of Michael and Alissa Rey. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Lily Cooper.
We give special thanks to Dr. Esteban Quirarte at the VA and Dad's caregiver Elizabeth Andreadakis, Julia Valenzuela and Irene Rendon who provided him with loving and compassionate care in his last years.
