Annette went to schools on military bases since our father was on active duty in the Army. She attended Loretto Academy in El Paso for her Junior and Senior high school years. Upon graduation, Annette began her studies at Texas Western College (now UTEP). She graduated with a BA in Psychology/Speech and Hearing Handicapped from San Francisco State College. She received a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of San Francisco. She received a Certificate in Labor-Management Relations from the University of California at Davis.
Annette was married and divorced two times. She had no children. She lived a great deal of her adult life in the San Francisco area.
Annette was a Trust Officer for the Bank of America in San Francisco. She was a Labor Negotiator for the City of Vallejo, CA, collaborating with police and firefighter contracts. Annette moved back to El Paso in 1991 and worked at Story Cadillac, Amphibolite, Inc., Pacifica Homes, Ysleta and Tornillo Independent School Districts and El Paso Academy West, Coldwell Banker de Wetter Hovious, Keystone Heritage Park, and Melvin Subways.
Annette particularly liked teaching at El Paso Academy West, a charter school, and connecting with students on a personal level, listening to them and encouraging them to move forward with their education. She received many notes and pictures from students who shared their major life events with her. She loved animals and tried to adopt or rescue all of them! Annette was often serious and seen as overly so, yet had a wonderful, playful side at times that was a real crackup! I miss my Sissy so!
