Ralph’s educational path led him from Mesita Elementary to El Paso High School’s Class of 1955, and he pursued further studies at Texas Western College. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12160, as well as actively contributing to the El Paso High School PTA as Vice President. He later became a respected Real Estate Broker and served on the Board of Directors for the City Employees Federal Credit Union.
In 1961, Ralph commenced a 34-year career with the City Tax Office and Public Inspection Department. In 1967, he embarked on a part-time entrepreneurial venture, founding de la Torre Pest Control, which he operated with pride. His passion for this endeavor led him to serve as Vice-President of the El Paso Pest Control Association, where he formed lasting friendships.
In 2019, at the age of 83, Ralph reluctantly closed the doors of de la Torre Pest Control, a business he had nurtured over the years, sharing deep connections with his clients.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Andres Avelino and Maria Alicia de la Torre, his sister Yvonne Margarita de la Torre, and sweet granddaughter Alyssa de la Torre.
Ralph leaves behind his cherished wife of 65 years, Yvonne, and their devoted children: Yvette Haddad (Jerry), Annette Paez (Mark), and Arthur de la Torre (Amanda). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Joshua Haddad (Amanda), Brandon Haddad (Ashley), Tristen Haddad, Paden Portillo (Brenda), Westin Portillo, Christian Paez, and Nicholas de la Torre. Great grandchildren: Brayden, Jacob, Hannah, Bailey, and Ronin. He is survived by his sisters: Isela Harvey, Yvonne Garcia (Gonzalo), and Teresita Oldre.
