He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Noah worked for the sheriff mounted patrol for 18 years, and retired from Southwestern Bell where he worked as a cable repairman after 37 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, basket weaving, gardening, and was a lifetime member of Bolding Hunting Club.
Noah was drafted into the United States Army at a young age and re-enlisted into the United States Navy after his discharge from the Army.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Verlon Lurlene Lout Burton; daughter, Lisa LaRue Stueart; and five sisters, Nina Burton, Dollie Burton McLelland, Nellie LaPlace, Patsy White, and Nora Murphy.
Survivors include his son, Perry Wesley Burton (Cheryl) of Smackover; brother, Buddy Burton of Hermitage; sister, Beth Cook of Baton Rouge, LA; two grandsons, Blake Stueart (Raelynne) of El Dorado, Daniel Burton of Smackover; and great grandson, Noah Stueart.
He spent his last years enjoying the company of his partner in crime, Little Noah.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Kay Ruddell and Bro. Buddy Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
