Kenneth Clark, 90, of Smackover passed from this life June 21st surrounded by his family. He was a kind and caring soul who enjoyed helping others, fishing on Millwood Lake, listening to Buckaroo and Razorback games on the radio, and laughing with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dewitt Clark Jr., and a sister Betty Joe Ortiz.
He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-nine years, Ruby Faye and son Kenny (Euna) Clark, two grandchildren, Chris (Keitha) Clark and Kendra (Brad) Brumley, and seven great grandchildren; Logan, Baylor, Laynie, Chase, Kenley, Landree and Lunden all of Smackover.
He was born in Louann April 21, 1926 to Dewitt Sr. and Hester Clark where he learned the meaning of hard work and hard times growing up in the 1930’s. He dropped out of school in the tenth grade to help the family make ends meet, but often made time to walk the train tracks into town to catch a Roy Rogers “show”. During his school years he was an accomplished baseball player on the sandlot, throwing base runners out from his knees from the catcher position. He later joined the Navy where he served in the Pacific during WWII. After returning from the war, he began a long career in the oilfield as a Pumper, owner of Kenneth Clark Well Service, and Independent Oil Producer.
