He is survived by his wife of 39 years Becky Smith Holloway of Smackover; two sons Brent (Christi) Holloway of Gainesville, GA and Kent Holloway of Smackover; a daughter Julianne (Seth) Jamison of Nashville, AR; one grandchild, Harper Anne Holloway of Gainesville, GA, with a second grandchild expected in December; a sister Suzy (Randy) McNeely of Hot Springs, AR; and numerous and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Frances Voris Holloway of Smackover.
Jimmy Don was born on December 5, 1951 in El Dorado. He graduated from Smackover High School in the class of 1969 and served proudly in the United States Navy. Upon returning to Smackover and starting his family, he worked for Holloway Oil Company until his retirement. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Smackover where he served as a deacon, and spent 10 years as the coach of various Babe Ruth and Little League baseball teams in the area.
Those who knew and loved him will remember most his sweetness, his humor, his faith and his encyclopedic knowledge of sport trivia.
A memorial service will be 10 am, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Smackover with Rev. Carley Davis and Rev. Ray Wells officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5pm to 7 pm at Youngs Funeral Directors.
Memorial may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation; LifeTouch’s John R Williamson Hospice House or D.A.V.
