Jerry L. Purtle, of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed on March 28, 2022 at Life Touch Hospice, after a year long struggle of liver cancer. Jerry was born September 25, 1953, in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Robert and Marion Purtle.
Jerry grew up in El Dorado schools and graduated in 1971 and obtained his associate degree in architectural engineering from Southwest Technical Institute.
Jerry married Jane Martin of El Dorado, Arkansas, in 1973, where they raised their two daughters Carrie McFarland and Danna Smith. Jerry was a member of Marrable Hill Chapel where he served as an Elder and enjoyed his weekly men’s prayer luncheons. He loved his walks with his four legged companion, JoJo, and the outdoors including camping, hunting, and his yearly fishing trips to Kodiak, Alaska. Jerry was an avid Nascar racing fan, supporter of local musicians and his daily Granitas at PJs Coffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Dub and Nelma Martin, and grandson “Little Tony” Pierce. Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane Martin Purtle, his daughters Carrie McFarland (Keith) of Melissa, Texas, Danna Smith of El Dorado, Arkansas; grandkids, Rachel Cleveland (Chase), Taylor Rodriguez (Ernesto), Kyle Smith (Kaylee), Kenton Pierce (Isabelle), and Kameron Smith; great grandsons Dash and Kai Cleveland; brothers Larry Purtle (Damaris) and Jeff Purtle; cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Marrable Hill Chapel, 110 East Chapel, El Dorado, AR 71730 Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 2:00-4:00PM.
