Before his retirement, he worked for Great Lakes Chemical as an engineer and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Hugh is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maryann Tolley Melton of El Dorado; daughter, Tiffany Melton Hurley (Todd) of El Dorado and her son, Talon; son, Shane Austin Melton (Kasey) of Alexander, AR and their children, Tyler, Landyn, and Koby; two sisters, Nancy Rae Kinard and Joanna R. Melton both of El Dorado; aunt, Mary Jo Crosley of El Dorado.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
