Helen Lorraine Odom

She was born April 12, 1930 in Norphlet to V. L. Armstrong and Retha Aiken Armstrong. Helen was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Norphlet. She loved hummingbirds and flowers. But her greatest joy was her family

Preceding her in death are her parents and a brother Buddy Armstrong.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dale Odom of Norphlet; her children, Darrel Odom and wife Debbie of Little Rock, AR, Gwen Odom of Hensley, AR, Karen McLemore and husband John Paul of League City, TX and Diane Marks of Norphlet; grandchildren, Heather Janish and husband Brian, Paul McLemore and wife Amy, Meagan Marks, Katie Hartz and husband Ehren, Dale Ray Marks and wife Brittany and Becca Odom; great-grandchildren, Lana Massey, Jackson Lewis, Kaydence McLemore, Sarah Janish, Wyatt Hartz and John Daniel Janish; brothers, Richard Armstrong and wife Charlotte of Minden, LA and Carl Armstong of Louann, AR and sisters, Jerra Baylis of Houston, TX and Carolyn Waller and husband Vettie of Three Creeks, AR.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at First Baptist Church Norphlet with Rev. Gerald Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
