Harold Lee Barker Sr.

Harold Lee Barker, Sr., 82, of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born January 18, 1930, to Ronald Albert Barker, Sr. and Roxie Laura Haley Barker in West Carroll Parish, LA.

Harold was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a truck driver for Miller Transport for 22 years, he also worked for Wheeling Pipeline. He was Local Teamster Shop Steward. He loved dominos and other board games.

Preceding him in death are his parents; three brothers, Clarence, Preston, and Thurman Barker; sister, Mabeline Hurt; and daughter, Barbara Stewart.

Survivors include his loving wife of 13 years, Laverne Sawyer Barker of El Dorado; seven children, Harold Lee Barker, Jr. (Cindy) of Colorado Springs, CO, Lisa Woolsey (Bruce) of El Dorado, Keith Barker of El Dorado, Cindy Miller (David) of Las Vegas, NV, Pam Braselton (Ronnie) of McKinney, TX, Ernie Sawyer (Jackie) of El Dorado, Angie Morgan (Raymond) of Star City, AR; two sisters, Christine Holmes (Lewis) of Magnolia, Ruby Wilson (Gary) of El Dorado; three brothers, Clifton Barker (Wilma), Maurice Barker (Becky), Roland Barker, Jr. (Crystal) all of El Dorado; twenty three grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. J. D. Weido and Rev. Jason Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Barker, Ron Braselton, Ben Dees, Charlie Dees, Adam Sawyer, and Daniel Sawyer.
