Rick was born January 14, 1953 and was the youngest child born to Arnie Lee and Wilma Nellie Smith Burson of Smackover and was a 1972 graduate of Smackover High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy Matthew, nephew Gary Murphy, father-in-law Richard (R.L.) Chitwood, son-in-law Tim Garner, and two of the most special people in his life Donnie Misenheimer and Ronnie Jones.
He is survived by his loving wife Kelly. His beloved children: son, Davin Burson (Stacy) of Camden, daughters: Lorie Burson (Robin Goodwin) of Hampton, Emma Burson and Alsie Blackmon both of El Dorado. Surviving grandchildren are Ashton Bryant and Dylan Burson both of Camden, Mia Garner of Hampton, Abagail Burson of Tyler, Texas, Kasey McClain (Matt) of El Dorado, Camille Richoux (Andy) of Little Rock, Dalton Goodwin (Kassi) of El Dorado, Alexis Goodwin of Parkers Chapel, and Hannah Nell Blackmon of El Dorado and great-grandchildren: Stella and Olivia McClain and Isabella Goodwin all of El Dorado. Also surviving are his siblings Barbara Murphy (Charles), Doris Loy of Camden, Billy Joe Burson (Suzy) of Norphlet and Randy Burson (Janie) of Nampa, Idaho and mother-in-law, Rosa Chitwood of El Dorado as well as several nieces and nephews along with his pets: Annie, Rex, Roxie, Kid and Duke.
In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced by Young’s Funeral Directors at a later date.
