Gary was born on August 30, 1953 to the late Jack D. Cameron and Joycelyn Matlock Cameron in El Dorado, AR.
Gary worked for Great Lakes Chemical, DuPont and Chemours for a total of 40 years & 4 months. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he helped in the TV ministry and Operation Christmas Child and keeping the grounds mowed.
He enjoyed spending time with his family skiing on the river. He also enjoyed camping with them at Cowhide Cove on Lake Greeson. After retirement, he loved traveling and spending quality time with his late wife, Denise. They enjoyed bus tours and going on cruises together. One of their most memorable trips was to see Yellowstone National Park.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife Billie Denise Sanders Cameron, his father, Jack D. Cameron, his mother, Joycelyn Matlock Cameron, his paternal grandparents, Owen and Mattie Mae Burley Cameron, his maternal grandparents, Robert Andrew Matlock and Emma Maggie Flournoy Matlock.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Jeff Cameron (Andrea) of Ruston, LA and Sharon Guthrie (William) of Baytown, TX; grandchildren, Reed, Kenzie and Garrett of Baytown, TX; Масу, Layla and Bryce of Ruston, LA.; sister, Judy Welch (Danny) of Keithville, LA; nieces, Amanda Rich (Chris) of Sherman, TX; nephew, Cameron Vick (Carrie) of Stonewall, LA; and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Immanuel Baptist Church, El Dorado, AR. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clark Whitney officiating. Interment will follow at Scotland Cemetery.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Byron Bailey, Darren Heard, Mike Latimer, Gary Hudson and Brad Thomason.
Memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child or to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
