Bo was a faithful member of the Caledonia Baptist Church. He had a great love for the church and his church family. Bo was a retired crane operator having worked in the construction field for over 40 years. He enjoyed antique cars, stock car racing, was a skilled wood worker, loved to travel with Patty, and spent many hours working in his garden. Fishing on the Ouachita River was a special time for him. Bo was a veteran who served in Vietnam for two terms.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Clifford Brown and a sister, Gail Mannis.
He is survived by his wife Patty Major Brown, mother, Betty Brown; one daughter, Amy Watt; one son, Cliff Brown; step-daughter, Shawna Clawson (Marion); step-son, Jason Smith; two sisters, Mary Hovis (Sonny), Judy Hollingshead (Huck); three grandchildren, Macie Clawson, Paige Clawson, Jake Watt; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
The family would like to thank the staff in the ICU at St. Vincent’s for the loving care they provided for Bo and his family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, in Young’s Chapel with Rev. Sam Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday night at Young’s.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Hollingshead, Jake Watt, Ricky Hollingshead, Shannon Hovis, Kenneth Mayweather, and Barry McGhee. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Caledonia Baptist Church and Walter Brazeal.
