Born November 15, 1925 in Wesson, Arkansas he was the son of Jewel and Ola Hayes Cameron. Mr. Cameron had spent over 40 years in the automotive parts business working for numerous dealerships and auto parts houses, retiring in 1988 from Mac’s Auto Supply.
He was an avid gardener and outdoorsman and enjoyed many domino games at the Union County Senior Citizens Club. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death along with his parents was his first wife, Billie Jean Cameron, and brothers, Charles, John W. “Pete”, Harold D., Loyd Cameron; a niece, Tracey Davis; nephews, Sam Cameron and Brian Cameron; and great-niece, Courtney Cameron.
Survivors include his wife Juanita Miller Cameron, a daughter, Debra Durain (Eddie), sons, David Cameron and James D. “Doug” Cameron (Rhonda) all of El Dorado, sisters, Betty Stinnett (Tom) of Oklahoma City, Nancy Davis (Benny) of El Dorado and Judy Cameron (Berit) of Sherwood, AR, and brothers, Don Cameron (Chris) of Pauley’s Island, SC, Jerry Cameron (Carolyn) of Port Arthur, TX, Paul Cameron (Linda) of El Dorado and Tommy Cameron (Demetria) of Searcy, AR. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Nelda Cameron of Cleveland, TX, Sarah Cameron of El Dorado and Wilma Gulley of Louisiana and brother-in-law, Walter Ward of Hot Springs.
Surviving grandchildren are Jason Ingram (Christa) of Hot Springs, Jared Ingram (Lisa) of Caddo Mills, TX, Jenna Lewis (Josh), of El Dorado, Michael Cameron of Dallas, Michele Proctor (Phillip) of Camp Springs, MD, Kelli and Terri Cameron of El Dorado and and great grandchildren, Addison Ingram, Rylie Ingram, Danny Ingram, Leyton Lewis, Weston Lewis, Raven Proctor, Julian Proctor, Jelani Cameron, Jacari Cameron and Sonyah Cameron.
Surviving step-children are Beverly Allen (Bill) of El Dorado, Tom Woods and Tim Woods of Kentucky, step-grandchildren, Christy Edmonds of El Dorado, Kerri Metzger (Josh) of Florida, Jennifer Hacker (Chris), Christina Caldwell, Laura Woods and Thomas Woods all of Kentucky, Allison Durain of Little Rock, and Tiffany Dortch of Haughton, LA, along with step-great-grandchildren, Zoe Edmonds, Mira Metzger, Ethan Metzger, Sofia Metzger, James Caldwell, Kaitlyn Caldwell, William and Gage Woods, and Christian and Reagan Dortch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Tommy Mellinger and Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Cameron’s grandsons and great nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Fielder, John Pickering, Jack Selmon, Bobby Godwin, J. T. Ward, and P.J. Greer.
Memorials may be made to Galilee Baptist Church, 117 Galilee Road, or to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.
The families will be at the Debra Durain residence, 6491 Wesson Road, Junction City or the Nancy Davis residence, 1781 Hinson Road, El Dorado.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Young’s Funeral Directors.
