Cherry Lynn Holmes

Cherry was born October 7, 1956, to Chloe Ballard Holmes and Allie Bruce Holmes in Mathis, TX. She spent her childhood in Mathis and graduated from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, TX. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and the UT Rifle and Pistol Club.

Cherry retired last year from Title Guaranty Company which allowed her to spend more time doing the things she loved; walking her beloved dog Butch, cooking, candle making, visiting art museums, and spending time with family.

She is predeceased by her parents and sister Linda Dianne Holmes. She is survived by her son Cage Meade (Katie) of Urbana, AR., and grandchildren Cooper and Paige; daughter Kelly Sawyer (Luke) of Fort Belvoir, VA., and granddaughter Aspen; and sisters Kathy Ritter, Becky Dumphy, Alison Riley, and Alane Nuzum. She will be remembered fondly as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 follow by services at 2:00 p.m. in Young's Chapel with Rev. Greg Tucker officiating. Cremation services entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
