Barbara Ann Butler, beloved mother and grandmother, departed this earth on November 29, 2023, at Timberlane Nursing Home in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was born in Tucson, AZ, March 24, 1942, to George F. Dittmann III, and Anne Nelson Dittmann.
After surviving a disabling water skiing accident at age 32, Barbara taught 5th grade at Northwest Elementary, where she retired. Barbara loved dogs and collected turtle figurines and keepsakes from former students.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Z. Roy Butler, III.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Randy Butler (Malinda) and Brandon Butler (Tanya) of El Dorado, Arkansas; her grandchildren Sarah (Justin) Kirkpatrick; Matthew (Hillary) Butler; Brittany (Trey) Mooney; Jolie Westbrook (Zach); Wesley Selmon; and Hunter Greer. Also there are three great-grandchildren: Hayden and Carson Stringfellow; and Haven Butler. Barbara also leaves behind one brother, George F. Dittmann, IV, (Anna) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and their family. Also dear to her is her sister in law, Carol Butler Yancey and her family of Gulf Breeze, Florida.
The family would like to thank Timberlane Nursing and Rehab and Hospice for their love and care— especially Daphne and Sheena, as well as her former caregivers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Young's Funeral Directors. Cremation services were provided by Young's Funeral Directors.
