Valerie Mae Crossley

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Valerie Crossley in St. Albert, Alberta, who passed away with family by her side, on February 22, 2023 at the age of 94. Valerie was born on February 2, 1929 in Edmonton, Alberta to parents Reginald and Katherine (Margery). Valerie will be lovingly remembered by her children Larry, Gary (Alix), Greg (Marc), Rob (Elaine), Donna, Lisa, Kelly (Russ), John, Paula (Bob) and son-in-law Jerry Byer. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Kelsey), Mark (Alicia), Leslee (Jerad), Norris, Andrew (Alicia), Brent, Simon (Betty), Molly (Mark), Tomas (Kimberly), Ryan, Matthew, Kyle, Jason (Sable). Great Grandchildren: Sheldon (Mairead), Alyssa, Luke, Cohen, Kayla, Brynn, Amber, Marshall, Benjamin, Evelyn, Beau, Berlin, Ryker. Great great grandchild: Meabh. Also lovely remembered by her sister Carol Enright and niece/friend Laura Enright and many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her beautiful daughter Deborah Byer, and her brother Daniel. Valerie’s family was the centre of her life, we were always surrounded by her beautiful energy of love and caring. Her heart and home were always open to family, our friends and children in the neighbourhood; the family home was always a hub of activity. To be able to travel and see more of the world was one of her greatest wishes. It was only later in life, after devoting many years to raising her children, she was able to fulfil her desire for travel. Her travels took her to California (Disneyland, San Francisco, San Diego), Hawaii, Italy, Mexico. New York was a favourite and regular destination, accompanied by 1 or more family members, she visited her son Greg and his wife Marc, and enjoyed exploring the city. She also loved her trips to Hornby Island to visit her sister Carol and niece Laura. Her favourite destination was Jasper, which visited many times in the fall with her daughters to enjoy the beauty of the mountains.

Memorial will be held at a later date with her family. Cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.
