Thomas was born in Burnaby, BC and grew up in the Salmon Arm area, graduating from Salmon Arm Senior High School in 1981. He started his training as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Medicine Hat, AB and then moved to Vegreville and completed his certification at NAIT, later receiving his second ticket to become a certified Machinist at NAIT as well. He has lived in Beaumont for almost 30 years, working for Hoerbiger in Spruce Grove for the last number of years.
Thomas loved the outdoors and the activities that took him outside - from flying airplanes to skateboarding to ski-dooing to camping.
He is lovingly remembered by his beloved partner, Colleen Noonan; his children, Trent (Ariana), Lauren Sims (Keagan), and Colby; and by his most cherished grandchildren, Sadie and Micah. He is also survived by his mother Jeanette Martin and siblings Dennis (Bonnie McClelland), Colleen Cederholm (Glyn Yuhas), Michael (Treicia Sutherland) and Gloria Couture (Phil). He was pre deceased by his father, Yvon Martin in 2000. He will be remembered and missed by the large circle of friends and family he has spent time with over the years.
Thomas was loved by everyone who met him, eager to extend a helping hand to those in need. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile, great sense of humour and gentle spirit.
A memorial service will be held for Thomas on Saturday, February 4th at 2:00, at Hainstock's, 9810 34 Avenue NW Edmonton.
