Petar Jovanovic

June 24, 1937 - June 25, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Petar, our beloved Father, Grandfather and Husband.

Petar will be lovingly remembered by his son Alex and stepdaughter Marija, grandchildren Hana, Milica (Mimi), as well as many extended family and friends here in Canada and abroad.

He was predeceased by his Father Jelenko, his Mother Vukosa, and loving wife Milica (2011).

Petar was an Architectural Technologist by profession and his contributions to our community such as the Cavalry Community Church in Millwoods and the Underground Parking at the Legislature will continue to live on. During the recession in the 80’s and until retirement, Petar worked as a Custodian with the Edmonton Public School Board and took great pride in doing his absolute best ensure thousands of students and teachers over the years had a clean and safe place to learn and grow.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at St Michael’s Cemetery 13819 82 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5C 3R2

Due to COVID there is a limit to how many can attend, and with recent news about the ongoing spread in the Edmonton area (attributed mostly to birthdays, weddings and funerals) the family will welcome anyone who would like to come. In the spirit of Dad and the type of person he was, he would have been honored if people would simply take a moment at Noon on Thursday, from wherever they are, to remember him. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories are welcome.

Funerals are for the living so please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Dad is already where he needs to be.
