The family of Nadine Crawford is sad to announce her passing at the age of 86. Nadine is survived by her children, Linda Chalifoux (Charlie), Janis Morrison (Bruce), Richard Crawford (Elaine), Peggy Sinclair (Barry), Mark Crawford, and Cathy Rosenke (Tim); grandchildren, Cheryl, Nathan, Amy, Kelsey, Jason, Benjamin, Abraham, and Brandi; and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Lund of Minnesota.
Nadine was born and raised in Edmonton, to Leroy and Gladys Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband Bob in 2005; son Tom in 2007; her parents; her brother Bob; and sisters Betty Lou, and Peggy.
Nadine attended Highlands School and she loved walking and cross country skiing on the Highlands golf course. As a young woman she was an accomplished speed skater. She loved the winter weather and being outside anytime - "soaking up the sun". She was a accomplished gardener and won numerous awards. She loved making cards, baking pies, wearing fun socks and earrings, doing puzzles, and going to garage sales.
She retired from AGT from their map and reproduction area and was a volunteer facilitator at Grant MacEwan College. Later in her life she reconnected with her childhood boyfriend Ken Purdy and so enjoyed those days.
As she aged, dementia took over and her life changed. Mom always said "remember me like I was, not like this". Nadine's family would like to thank the caring staff at the Devonshire Care Centre for all their support over the years.
In respect of Nadine's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta
Arrangements under the direction of Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Edmonton, AB.
