Our beloved mother Lisbeth Edith Brauer passed away on December 13, 2020 while surrounded by the love of her family, after a long fight with Vascular Dementia. She was 88 years, and almost 10 months old.
Lisbeth was born on February 23, 1932 in Memel, East Prussia and was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Friedrich Brauer in March of 1999. He worked for many years as a self-employed proprietor of a small construction company.
Unless you knew our mother before the illness you really can’t understand how sad this really is. Our mother was the strongest woman we have ever met. She was a loving Mama Bear that protected both of her sons fiercely and lead by example her entire life.
Lisbeth was active in life as a pillar of support for her entire family, and friends. Her beaming smile and endless kindness toward all was unsurpassed and will live in the hearts of every person she touched. She always brought calmness and clarity to every situation and made it so easy to instantly love her gift for life. Her battle with Dementia is now over and she can rest peacefully with her beloved husband for eternity.
Lisbeth Brauer is survived by her sons, Harold Brauer (Bernice), and Gordon Brauer (Neil), and grandson Kyle Brauer. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Erna Bose and Crystal Hecht; and her brothers, Horst Plehwe, Werner Plehwe, Gert Plehwe, and Siegfried Herrmann.
