Thank you Joey for remembering Jon. Just spent another weekend in Cadomin.  I feel so close to Jon when we are there.  His presence is strong in the mountains where he loved to be. His cross still stands on the hill overlooking the river valley.

Happy Birthday Son,
Today you would have been 27 years old.
I find your birthday a difficult day as I am overwhelmed with waves of grief.
Last year we all went out to your favorite restaurant and celebrated what would have been your 26th birthday. 
Today I lit a candle by your urn and will keep it burning all day.
Last summer while we were in Ontario I found this poem. 
I know your gift to me would be to find some comfort in these words.

We are so sad for you. I remember holding Jonathan when he was just a baby, and we saw  him grow up to be a fine young man. He loved you and he knew that he was loved.  There is no greater gift.

he told me his  Gramp had passed so we
conversed and I hugged him, saw him at the Legion Steak night, thanked us for the supper,waved, leaving with a smile on

I met Jonathan for the first time on Saturday evening outside the legion in Cadomin.  While chatting, he told me he had a childhood memory of my grandmother (Emma) offering him a popsicle while she and his grampa were talking over the fence.  He said she was a nice lady and offered his condolences on her passing.  This touched me deeply and I just wanted you to know that I was very impressed with this young man.  Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the tragic loss of both Jonathan and his grampa.
