It is with great sadness that the family of Jason Lauder announce his passing at 52 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Claire-Ann, his daughter Sadie, parents Art and Dianne and sister Janis. He will be missed by his sister-in-law (Nancie Hodgson) mother-in-law (Georgie Hodgson) niece (Jennifer Hodgson) and great nephew (Kendrick Hodgson). Jason’s cousins, aunts, uncles, close friends and colleagues will also miss him. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for their compassion and care.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Jason graduated from the University of Calgary in 1999 with a degree in engineering. He went on to enjoy a successful career in the oil and gas industry, working closely alongside his dad for many years while also making many lifelong friends. Jason loved curling, golfing, and playing slo-pitch for the Lookouts team, where he met his wife of 19 years. Jason and Claire-Ann welcomed their daughter Sadie in 2007 and the three of them enjoyed many happy years of camping and traveling with friends while exploring his passion for fine food and wine.
For the past 9 years, Jason has faced many health challenges with courage and resilience all while retaining his sense of humour. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory to the:
