It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving big sister, mother and grandmother. Cheryl was a kind, caring and strong-willed woman who gave generously of her time and support to any of her friends and family in need. Always focused on helping others, during her early life she worked as a Nurse at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, later becoming a teacher after earning a B Ed at the University of Manitoba. Her great joy was working with special needs students and she touched the lives of countless children and their families through her work with the Elves Special Needs Society. Her great joys were family, friends, cooking and travelling to visit with family, passions that she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Cheryl was pre-deceased by her loving husband Terry in 2021 and leaves behind children Sean (Michelle), Kerri (Sean), Wade and 8 grandchildren, a large extended family, lifelong friends and will be missed by all who she touched throughout her life and travels.
At Cheryl’s request, a picnic gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate her life on 22 June 2025 in the Edmonton area.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elves Special Needs Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
