Cheryl Ann Howes

Cheryl Ann Howes (nee Tangen) was born in Swift Current Saskatchewan on Aug 2nd 1948 as the youngest of 11 siblings. She grew up on a farm and attended school in Stewart Valley where, one day, at an evening dance, she met and later married the love of her life, Lloyd. She would spend 54 years with him, having two children, 6 grandchildren and soon to be 9 great grandchildren. Cheryl enjoyed golfing, camping, and spending time with her family, but her true passion, outside of her family, was to sing. She had an incredible voice covering artists like Tammy Wynette, Lorreta Lynn and Tanya Tucker with amazing accuracy. So much so that Cheryl was often invited to join headline entertainers on stage at various venues around Swift current, and even made an impromptu appearance with Danny Hooper at the Red Barn back in the 80's. She and Lloyd called many places home over the years including Swift Current, Olds, Lethbridge, Alida, Lloydminster, Bonneville, Whitecourt, Cochrane, Airdrie and finally St. Albert. Cheryl was a 55 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles where she and Lloyd enjoyed countless hours over the years volunteering, participating in golf and pool tournaments and socializing, no matter where they lived. Cheryl passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Cheryl is survived by her children Michael (Alison) Howes, Michelle (Howard) Crone as well as her grandchildren Brittany (Brett) McKenzie, Amber Howes, David Howes, Lucas Howes, Lyndon (Courtney) Mageau-Crone, Lauren (Shane) Murphy and her great grandchildren Alaiya Howes, Milo Howes, Felix McKenzie Theodore McKenzie, Norah McKenzie, Lily Mageau-Crone, Sadhbh Murphy and Clodagh Murphy. Cheryl is also survived by her sister Sheila (Glen) Bloomberg, brothers Roger (Myrna) Tangen and Garry (Linda) Tangen. Cheryl is predeceased by her parents, Arne and Selma, her husband Lloyd, sisters Audrey Street. Jeanette Targerson, Faye Romano, Donna Tangen, Edith Tangen, brothers Harold Tangen and Robert Tangen.

No formal service will be held at this time, cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.
