It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beth Jane DeBlock (nee Sellers) at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton on September 24, 2024 at the age of 66 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Bill and Florence Sellers, Beth is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joel; her two sons, Matthew of Shanghai and Joshua (Jasmin) and granddaughter, Martina, of Edmonton; and her sister, Gilda Sellers (Don Wright) of Vancouver, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Beth was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on July 2, 1958. The family moved to Saskatoon a few years later, where Beth attended most of her grade school, high school, and the University of Saskatchewan. Growing up, she was passionate about horses and spent many years in the riding ring, taking lessons in dressage. In 1979, she met Joel - literally on the street on her way to the university campus - and love bloomed. Beth and Joel shared 45 wonderful years together, creating a family they are deeply proud of.
Beth worked as an EMG Technologist in Edmonton for over 30 years, actively working until her illness. She was regarded as kind, caring, and competent within the medical community. Beth also loved animals and fostered greyhound dogs for many years. She enjoyed various needlecrafts, gardening, and especially cherished becoming a grandmother to Martina in 2020. Beth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Life in Beth's honour will be held at Avenue Church, 11725 93 St NW, Edmonton, AB on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Beths' memory can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society: https://albertacancer.ca/donate/ or to the SPCA: https://www.albertaspca.org/ways-to-help/donate/
or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
