Ronnie Woodrow Lowrey

Ronnie W. Lowrey, 68, of Edmond passed away May 3, 2011. Ronnie was born January 14, 1943 in Morris, OK. He graduated from Central State College on a football scholarship becoming the Central State Athletic hero in Football from 1961-63; a member of the National Championship team and the 1961 All State team. Ronnie worked as a teacher and coach at Millwood Public Schools for 32 years coaching football, basketball and track and field. His greatest achievement was coaching the state championship football team in 1990 and winning high school track team in indoor Nationals. He loved watching his son wrestle, run track and later helping his son coach track. To watch young athletes do things they never thought they could meant so much to him.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Lowrey.

Ronnie is survived by his father, Roy Lowrey; step- mother, Betty; ; sisters, Sue Sandefur of Edmond and LaDonna Lowrey both of Edmond; seven step brothers and sisters; two nephews; one niece; and many wonderful friends.

A memorial service for Ronnie will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 6, 2011 at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene.
