Rob was born on February 10, 1971, in Russell, Kansas, to Robert Roy Hessman and Linda Ann (Arthun) Wolpert. He spent his childhood in Southern California and left to attend college in Southwest Kansas in 1992. After that, Rob moved to Colorado, where he married Michelle Dawn Walz on May 22, 2004. They relocated from Highlands Ranch, CO, to Garnet Valley, PA, in 2006; to Sammamish, WA, in 2008; and ultimately to Edmond, OK, in 2011.
Rob loved anything related to the great outdoors and extreme sports, including his Toyota Tacomas, RC car racing, surfing, fly fishing, and white-water river kayaking. He taught his family how to play, enjoy the outdoors, and find humor in the everyday.
We'll deeply miss his big heart. The sound of his infectious laugh! The way he found joy even in the simplest things. We'll miss the taste of his famous green chili and how much he enjoyed cooking it.
Rob would want us to remember how much he loved his family and friends from coast to coast.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Roy and Grace Hessman, Vern and Ann Arthun, and his uncle Ronald "Rock" Hessman.
Rob is survived by his wife, Michelle, and their fur babies Georgia and Charlotte; his mother, Linda Wolpert; his father, Robert (Bob) Hessman and Bob's wife, Lisa; his brother James Wolpert; his sister Kimberly Purkis and her husband Craig; his sister Ashley Wolpert Miller and her husband David; two nieces and three nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, consider contributing to Lab Rescue OK, Inc. in Rob's name. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baggerley.com for the Hessman family.
