Mary South, born on July 18, 1943, in Moselle, Mississippi, was the daughter of Joseph Barney Temple and Sinnie Elvinnie Herring. She had a deep passion for gardening, gospel and country music, and cherished her family, grandchildren, and dogs. Mary originally lived in California before relocating to Oklahoma in 1983.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Barney Temple and Sinnie Elvinnie Herring, and her brothers Joseph Temple, Wife Hazel, son-in-law Tony Smart, and Hank Temple.
She is survived by her husband George Marshall, her children Michelle Smart of Newalla, Oklahoma, Michael Sellers (and wife Michelle), and Marty South of Texas. Her surviving siblings include her brother Dan Temple of Arkansas, and her sisters Vinnie Cee Thompson (and wife Melton) and Mararee Clark, both of Mississippi. Mary also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her life was marked by her love for her family, her nurturing spirit towards children, and her joy in simple pleasures like tending her garden and listening to music.
