Kathy Lynn (Smith) Kocher

Katherine Lynn "Kathy" (Smith) Kocher, a beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on June 12, 1952, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Troy Donald Smith and Betty Lou Smith (Caldwell).

Kathy's life journey was marked by dedication and achievement. She pursued her education with vigor, earning both a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Kathy's career spanned 27 years with the same company, where she excelled and eventually became Assistant Credit Manager. Her commitment and work ethic were unmatched, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Music was a constant source of joy for Kathy, particularly Big Band and 1960's pop, which she delighted in listening to. She had an affinity for the color blue in all its shades, reflecting her calm and serene demeanor. Kathy cherished moments spent with her family and dog, finding immense happiness in their presence.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church, where she found community and solace.

Kathy married the love of her life, Gary Kocher, and together they shared many wonderful years until his passing in 1994. Kathy is survived by her loving sister, Shelly A. Decker, and her husband Robert J. Decker of Maryland, as well as sister-in-law Jan L. Smith of Mead, OK. She also leaves behind three nieces two nephews and her dog, Mattie, who brought her much comfort and joy. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Betty Lou Smith, her husband Gary, and her brother, Donald T. Smith.

Kathy’s memory will forever be treasured by all who knew her. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith leave an indelible mark on those whose lives she touched.
