Most Friday nights were spent playing football games in Inglewood, California. Tim went to three high schools during his senior year. The last move was to Pueblo, Colorado where he finished high school and went on to play college football at Southern Colorado State College, now Colorado State University Pueblo. Following college, Tim worked and managed Gibson’s Discount Center before embarking on a long career in sales. He sold Key Overalls and would travel across Oklahoma and neighboring states in a 6 wheel that contained all of his overall samples. He owned Whirla Whip, an ice cream shop for many years. He could often be found outside the ice cream shop sporting a chicken costume trying to round up business. After Whirla Whip, he was offered a job at Advance Food Company which began an amazing 22 year career where he not only became a top salesman, but he made life-long friendships with his customers and co-workers that cannot be matched. He enjoyed traveling and bringing people a good laugh and was able to do a lot of that through his work. Tim was a lover of sports. He loved the Sooners, but his favorite teams were the ones his son, Garrett, or daughter Megan were a part of. He did not miss a sporting event, even if he had to drive through the night to get there. He enjoyed cheering them on when they both played basketball for Edmond North. Upon his request, his grave is located next to the Edmond North High School and is facing the gym. He retired in 2017 which gave him the opportunity to spend more time with his lovely wife, Lissa Qualls Jones. They were able to make several trips including trips to Ireland and Japan. They also enjoyed going to Thunder and Sooner games, and any other sporting event Tim could find in the Edmond community. Tim was affectionately known by his peers as “Jonesy” but his most recent name was “Papa Jones”. He cherished his time with his grandkids and loved spending time with them.
Tim is survived by wife, Lissa, son Garrett Jones and wife Whitney, daughter Megan Benton and husband Joe, bonus sons Jason Qualls and Chris Qualls and wife Audra, grandchildren Rylee, Reed, Allie, Kaylee, and Avery, sister Kaysene Jones, brother Casey Jones, and Dana Jones, mother of Garrett and Megan.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Nina and brother Allen Jones.
