Francis Lucy Groff

Francis “Lucy” Lucille Groff passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, peacefully in the comfort of her home. Lucy was born on August 24, 1938 to Virgil and Lillian (Payne) Courtney. She married the love of her life, Don Maurice Groff, with whom she spent 23 wonderful years.

Lucy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don, parents, sister Dorothy Payne, brother Kenneth Payne, and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her only son Toby James Pate of Guthrie; niece Terri Gregory of Edmond; three granddaughters: Ashleigh Pate of Edmond, Taylor Pate of Guthrie, and Daly Pate of Guthrie; and two great-grandchildren Aubree Jones and Michael Hudson of Guthrie.

Visitation is 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Baggerly Funeral Home, Edmond. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 4, 2022, at Baggerley Funeral Home with Bill Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond.

Pallbearers will be Roger Canada, Jaden Canada, Brian Shields, Blaine Orr, Steven Kriz, Mike Hudson, and Ethan McKee.
