Shirley Garris (Brown) of Bushkill passed away at home with her family by her side on Friday November 5, 2021. Shirley was the daughter of the late Evan and Mary (Weikel) Brown. She was born in Wilkes Barre and then moved to Bethlehem PA. She lived a long life by enjoying and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a former co-owner of the Garris Log Cabin in Bushkill where she was known for her famous chili and salad bar. She was a waitress for over 50 years. She lived for her nights of playing bingo with her daughter Debra and her friends. She will be greatly missed.
She was the loving wife of her husband Arthur “Bud” Garris Jr. whom were married for 64 years. She is survived by her daughter Debra Bastian and her husband Dale of Bushkill, sons; Richard Garris and his wife Amanda of North Carolina and Robert Garris and his wife Barbara of East Stroudsburg; grandchildren: George Bastian, Kelsey Garris, Robert Garris, Ramsey Garris and Theresa Garris who is currently in the Army serving in Korea; 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son James Garris at the age of 49.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg PA 18301, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. with a service at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Shirley to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
