On August 3, 1931 Mary and John Turjak celebrated the birth of their first child, Helen. Today August 24, 2012 we celebrate the life of Helen who entered her heavenly home on August 21, 2012. Helen was born, lived and educated in the Bronx, N.Y. Upon graduation from high school Helen married her childhood sweetheart Rudy Kasak. They had two children Eddie and Johnny. Helen and Rudy moved to Douglaston, in the 1950’s where they bought their first home. After buying the “Cottages” at Echo Lake in (Bushkill) 1964. Helen and Rudy moved to Bushkill in 1969 where they lived for a while, until they built their second home where she lived until her untimely passing.
Helen’s passion and loving nature made the Business that they bought “The Cottages” a success until today. Helen was a friend to many. All who knew her loved her. Helen was a active member of three clubs, Bushkill Seniors, St. John’s seniors, Golden seniors social club and Travel seniors club. When she joined the Golden seniors social and travels club she and Rudy enjoyed exploring new places.
Helen continued to demonstrate her strength when she became ill. She never gave up until the Lord said “Enough good and gentle servant, come home” awaiting Helen’s arrival in glory are her parents Mary and John, her son Eddie.
Left to celebrate her life is her beloved Husband Rudy, Her devoted son Johnny and his wife Nancy Kasak, two brothers: Johnny and Joey Turjak, four grandchildren: Richie, Kristen, Ryan, and Melissa Kasak, who reaped the benefits of her present, unconditional love and devotion from birth; two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Gill-Turjak, and Esther Turjak, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Helen leaves to cherish her memory a host of other relatives and friends.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 5171 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301, with Rev. Fr., Jeffrey Walsh. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, in Stroudsburg.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Lanterman and Allen funeral home- 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg, PA 18301, from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Monroe county V.N.A. Hospice at 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
