Born in Buffalo, NY on May 14, 1928, he was a son to the late Ernst A. and Ethel Mills Vogt. He attended college in Pennsylvania. Bruce served his county proudly in the United State Army 82 Airborne Division during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he acquired a position at the Public Service Electric and Gas Company, Newark, NJ retiring in the position of Principal Accountant in January of 1988 after 37 years of service.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, Tannersville. Bruce was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his wife Rita Vogt who passed away in January of 1988 and his brother Harry Vogt.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, friend, and traveling partner Lucille Vogt, Stroudsburg; children, Matthew Vogt and his wife Nancy of Fair Oaks, Calf; Mary Vogt and her fiancé James Anderson of Stroudsburg; Cynthia Kanaley and her husband Steve of Stokesdale, NC; three stepchildren, Mark Ruban and his wife Sohaila of Manassas, VA; Sheryl Ruban of Brick, NJ; David Ruban and his wife Mary Lynne of Long Branch, NJ; seven grandchildren, Jesse Knoedler, Sarah Knoedler, Max Vogt,Todd Kanaley, Meghan Kanaley, Rayn Kanaley and Kiara Ruban.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, Cherry Land Road, Tannersville, with Fr. Richard Czachor celebrant. Private entombment will be held at the convenience of family in Mountain View Mausoleum at Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will be held on Friday February 8, 2013 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
