She was the daughter of Vernon and Gertrude Fuller Weidman. A long time resident of Chattanooga she served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. For many years she worked at Gilman Paint Company and General Appliance Company and retired as secretary at the Edwin Howard Architect firm.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin E. Howard of 66 years; son, Vernon Howard and wife, Yukie of Jacksonville, FL.; daughter, Marlene Howard-Miller of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren, twin girls, Jessica and Jennifer Miller and twin boys, Kris and Kevin Howard; and great-grandson, Alexander Howard; three sisters, Marylyn Miller of Atlanta, GA, Dolores Widmer of Alaska and Diane Mason of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held on 10 AM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Fate Thomas officiating.
Military honors will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
