Lelton M. Ward

Mr. Ward was born in Chattanooga to Hubert and Willie Ward. He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School Class of 1947 and a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church where he belonged to the James Sunday School Class. He retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He also enjoyed woodworking, rose gardening, cross-stitching and photography.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mildred Ward; children, Sharon Ward of Maryville, TN., Gary Ward, Douglas (Eva) Ward, of Ringgold, GA and Janice Ward of Chattanooga; grandsons, Benjamin (Ashley) Ward and Kyle (Amanda) Ward; great-grandson, Carter Ward; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 and 12 Noon to 1 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the funeral home with Dr. C. Richard Mason officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Rossville, GA.
