Gregory Dean Rittgers

Gregory Dean Rittgers passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved on January 6, 2020. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 17, 1956. He was a graduate of Hixson High School, class of 1974 and received his Associates Degree from Cleveland State. Greg owned and operated Rittgers Dental Laboratory for over 40 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, which is where he was baptized, confirmed, and where he also married the love of his life, Kathy Rittgers, to whom he was married for 41 years.

Greg was preceded in death by his sons, Gregory Dean Rittgers, Jr. and Ryne Rittgers; his father, John Rittgers, and his mother-in-law, Joan Merriman.

Left behind to cherish Greg’s memory are his loving wife, Katherine Merriman Rittgers, children, Jenny Rittgers, and Brandon (Whitney) Rittgers, mother: Mary Rittgers, father-in-law: Daniel P. Merriman and many loving and much loved sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Greg’s Life Funeral Mass will be held in the OLPH Catholic Church on Thursday January 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mike Creson officiating. The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday evening January 8, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
